Selmun Palace Hotel is built around
the 18th century Selmun Palace, which was designed by the famous architect
Domenico Cachia. The palace is a landmark of the village of Selmun and
is the largest of all such towers built by the Knights of the Order of
St John. Recently restored, guests are now able to sample the Castle's
delights with a choice of 6 Maisonette Suites. All suites are richly
decorated and have a sitting room, elevated bedroom, private ensuite
bathroom and all modern facilities.
The Selmun Palace Hotel also offers 138 twin rooms and
10 suites within the main hotel itself. All rooms have ensuite private
bathroom (with bath, shower and heated towel rail), colour TV (with satellite
reception), mini bar, hairdryer, air-conditioning,
rental safe and private balconies. Suites are also furnished with trouser
presses. Fax machines are available on request.
As the hotel is situated on one of Malta's highest points, all rooms
have breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea, Malta's sisters islands
Gozo and Comino and the local village of Mellieha.
For recreation, the Selmun Palace Hotel provides a wide
choice of facilities including a large outdoor pool with separate children's
pool and large sun-deck, an indoor heated pool, sauna, 2 tennis courts,
one of which is flood-lit, a mini-gym and archery facilities.
For those guests wishing to swim in the beautiful clear waters of the
Mediterranean Sea, the hotel provides free transfer service to either
Selmun Beach or Mellieha Bay.
Furthermore, the hotel offers a number
of restaurants and bars. Le Château is located inside Selmun Palace
in the former chapel. Today it is one of our function rooms, wherein occasional
evenings
are set up.
De Favray Restaurant serves a full buffet breakfast, à La
Carte lunch and buffet dinner, in relaxing surroundings. During the
warm
Summer months, Barbecues are held weekly around the pool, with Selmun
Palace lending a unique atmosphere.
Charlie's Bar is an international Cocktail bar and Malta's meeting
place.
The Pool Bar is open from May to October (weather permitting).
In addition to all the above, the hotel facilities include Conference
and Banqueting facilities, with a full range of audio-visual equipment
available.
